These terms are an agreement between you and Break Thruu Entertainment, Inc. ("we", "us"), an Ontario corporation, covering your use of the Colourway iOS app and colourwayapp.com (together, "Colourway"). By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Colourway.
Colourway turns photographs of receipts into a per-item cost basis for resale inventory: what you paid, what it cost to land, what it sold for, and what was left. It can post those records to QuickBooks Online if you connect it, and can produce summaries organised for a tax return.
What it is not. Colourway is a record-keeping tool, not a professional service. It does not provide tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Its outputs — including the tax pack, the profit-and-loss report, and anything posted to QuickBooks — are your records, prepared from data you supplied. Before you file a return, claim a deduction, or rely on a number in any other way, review it yourself and take professional advice if you need it. You remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your own books.
Automatic extraction is imperfect, by nature. Colourway reads receipts using an automated system. It misreads things. Totals, dates, tax amounts, currencies and item details can all come out wrong, and a receipt that is creased, cropped, faded, in an unfamiliar format, or in a language the system handles poorly makes that more likely. The app shows you what it read and where it read it from precisely so you can check it, and it flags what it is unsure about. That checking is your responsibility, not something the app has done for you. We do not warrant that any extracted figure is correct.
You must be at least 16. You must give an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us at privacy@colourwayapp.com promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not use anyone else's.
Colourway has a free tier and two paid tiers. What each includes is generated from the same table the app uses to enforce it, so this list and the app cannot disagree:
| Tier | Includes |
|---|---|
| Free | Up to 15 receipts per calendar month, resetting on the 1st |
| Pro | Unlimited receipts, inventory and landed cost, category rules, spend reports, lookbook |
| Business | Everything in Pro, plus QuickBooks sync, realized profit and loss, inventory valuation and aging, and the tax pack export |
Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency as set on the App Store for your region. Both paid tiers offer a monthly and a yearly option.
Apple bills you, not us. Payment is charged to your Apple Account on confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
Cancelling. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and access continues until that period ends. Deleting the Colourway app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple. We cannot issue, approve, or refuse a refund for a purchase made through the App Store — that is entirely Apple's to decide, under its own terms. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Changing tiers. Pro and Business sit in one subscription group, so moving between them is an upgrade or downgrade rather than a second subscription. Apple applies its own proration rules; an upgrade takes effect immediately and a downgrade at the next renewal.
If a price changes, Apple will notify you and ask for consent where its rules require it. You can always decline by cancelling before the next renewal.
If your subscription lapses, paid features stop. Your data is not deleted — your ledger stays intact and readable at the free tier, and paid features return if you resubscribe. The free tier's monthly receipt allowance applies again from that point.
You own what you put in. Receipts, images, ledger entries and everything derived from them remain yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to run the service for you: to store, process, transmit and display that content so the app can function, and to send receipt images to our processor to be read. That licence exists to operate Colourway and for nothing else. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it. What we collect and who processes it is set out in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for not uploading anyone else's personal information without a basis for doing so.
Export and deletion. Profile → Export writes your whole ledger to a ZIP of CSVs, with images if you ask. Profile → Delete account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone — export first if you want a copy.
Keep your own records. Colourway is not a system of record for tax purposes and is not a substitute for retaining your original receipts. Tax authorities generally require you to keep source documents for a number of years; that obligation is yours, and it does not transfer to us because you photographed something.
Connecting QuickBooks is optional and off by default. If you connect it, you authorise Colourway to post records you select to the company you choose, and to read the parts of your chart of accounts needed to map them.
Intuit is a separate company operating under its own terms. We do not control QuickBooks and are not responsible for it. Records already posted to your QuickBooks company are yours and stay there — disconnecting revokes our access and deletes the tokens we hold, but does not reach into your books to remove entries. Removing them is yours to do, as it should be.
Review what you post. A posting is a bookkeeping entry in your own accounting system, and the responsibility for its accuracy is the same as if you had typed it in yourself.
Do not: use Colourway unlawfully; upload content you have no right to upload; attempt to access another user's data; probe, scan, or test the security of the service except under a written agreement with us; interfere with or overload the service; reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except to the extent applicable law expressly permits; resell or redistribute the service; or use automated means to create accounts or extract data at scale.
Security research is welcome under agreement. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, email privacy@colourwayapp.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Colourway. We aim to give reasonable notice of a material change or a discontinuation, and to make export possible before access ends.
We do not promise uninterrupted service. Colourway depends on services we do not operate — Apple, our hosting provider, our extraction provider, Intuit — and an outage at any of them can take features down. Scheduled maintenance happens.
If we discontinue a paid tier outright, we will say so in advance and Apple's refund and cancellation rules will apply to any period you have paid for and cannot use.
By you: delete your account in the app, at any time, for any reason. Cancelling a subscription is separate and happens through Apple.
By us: we may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we are required by law to terminate, or that is being used in a way that puts other users or the service at risk. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export first.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination do — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law among them.
Colourway is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure it produces is accurate.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where you have statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded, nothing in these terms limits them, and the exclusions above apply only to the extent the law permits. Colourway is available worldwide, so which rights those are depends on where you live — Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, the EU Consumer Rights and Digital Content Directives, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Australian Consumer Law and their equivalents elsewhere all survive anything written here.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Again: where you have statutory rights that cannot be limited, these limits do not apply to them.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of Colourway, or content you uploaded that you had no right to upload. This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence.
Colourway is distributed through the App Store, and Apple requires the following to be part of these terms:
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction, and except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Colourway after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Colourway and delete your account.
